Professional Goals:
My Statement:
As someone who is passionate about working with children, I chose this career path for a specific reason. My younger brother was diagnosed with Leukemia when I was 11 years old. My family had the privilege to interact with many non-profits such as Make-A-Wish, Camp Sunshine, Lighthouse, and many others. Ever since then I have wanted to give back to families, just like those non-profits did for mine. It is one of my lifelong dreams to work for a non-profit dealing with hospitalized children and families. Some relevant job experience I have working with these types of families would be when I volunteered as a Child Life student at Children's Hospital of Alabama. Volunteering with those kids and their families was a life changing experience. I also recently had the privilege of interning at Lighthouse Family Retreat this past summer. This allowed me to see all of the logistics and everything that happens behind the scenes. One of my biggest, most rewarding experiences thus far at Auburn has been being apart of the Auburn University Dance Marathon in the Community Engagement Committee. I hope to achieve bringing a sense of empathy, as well as professionalism to my future team. These are two of my top four strengths. I strive to apply these into my future endeavors in the workforce, and to future families as well.
Philanthropic Legacy Statement
I desire to leave a philanthropic legacy by impacting every family I come across in my workplace. I want to provide children with the chance to feel like children. As someone who is very spiritual, I believe it is part of my time to be compassionate to every person I come across. No matter the circumstance, I want to be remembered as the person who loved and was kind to everyone. I desire to provide empathy to all families and children I work with. I want to also be known as someone who stood firm in her beliefs, as well as lead by a great example. One of my favorite bible verses is "Let all that you do be done in love" (1 Corinthians 16:14), and I think this represents everything I stand for. I will do everything out of love in my future endeavors. I want the families and children I work with to remember me for the good I had brought to their lives. These are just a few of the ways I aspire to leave a philanthropic legacy.
